How is your due date calculated?

Your estimated due date is 280 days — about 40 weeks — from the first day of your last menstrual period. This is called Naegele's rule, and it's the same formula your OB-GYN or midwife uses at your first prenatal visit.

What's the best week for a 3D or 4D ultrasound?

For the clearest, most detailed 3D and 4D ultrasound images of your baby's face, we recommend booking your session between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy.

Here's why that window matters: before 26 weeks, your baby may not have developed enough subcutaneous fat for those classic chubby-cheeked features that make 4D scans so memorable. After 32 weeks, baby is often too snug against the uterine wall — meaning faces get pressed against the placenta and you may not get the clear view you're hoping for.

If you're outside this window, don't worry. Our calculator will look at your current stage of pregnancy and recommend the package that's right for you — whether that's an early pregnancy confirmation, a gender reveal, or a late-pregnancy bonding session.

How accurate is the due date calculator?
Our calculator uses Naegele's rule — the same standard your healthcare provider uses. For the most accurate dating, an ultrasound between 8 and 12 weeks of pregnancy is recommended.
Can I find out my baby's gender as early as 6 weeks?
Yes — at Peek-A-Boo Baby we offer a next-day result blood test that can determine your baby's gender as early as 6 weeks of pregnancy. It's the earliest gender determination available in the Rio Grande Valley.
Do I need a doctor's referral to book?
No referral needed. Our 3D, 4D, and 5D bonding sessions are elective — you can book directly with us without a referral from your OB-GYN.
